Farmers of Darchula in northwest Nepal were affected by the heavy
snowfall that occurred on 14 and 15 December. It destroyed large area of sugarcane
farming of the district. According to the farmers this has lead to huge loss in
their household income. They have been cultivating sugarcane in commercial basis
since the last two years.
