In recent years,
vegetables greenhouses have become widespread on the old highland barley
farmland in Tibet. Overall 109 greenhouses were built in the Village of Ridung
Township, Chamdo region of eastern Tibet through government support and were contracted out to
villagers. Almost every family of different villages owned a greenhouse to grow
vegetables, which not only met the family's needs, but also could be sold on
the market.
