Timber
smuggling in Deukhuri, Dang, western Nepal has increased sharply in recent
years. Specially, border side of district is being targeted by the
smugglers. Around 219 set of Chirana
timber was detained from the Sidwara VDC in the border of Dang, Kapilbastu and
Arghakhachi district. Both the district forest offices and Armed Police Force have
intensified the patrolling in the risk areas.
