SAND PRICES UP AS DEMAND INCREASES - BHUTAN

With the construction sector booming up in the country, it has led to the soaring demand of sand and along with it, comes the hefty price. In Thimpu, it costs Nu 10,000 to 12,000 for a truck load (10 MT) of sand. According to Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited (NRDCL), the increase in price is due to the early depletion of sand deposits at Tshokonang in Lobesa.
