Inspite of plenty rainfall, some of the parts in Assam are still having
the problem of scanty rainfall and farmers are not ready to transplant Sali
seedlings. Similarly, Darrang district is also reeling under the impact of
drought like condition for Sali paddy cultivation. The Regional Meteorology Centre
(RMC) reveals that, the rainfall deficit in the State till date is 32 per cent.
