Most
of the heritage sites in Kathmandu that are of archaeological, religious and
cultural importance are at higher risk of earthquake due to haphazard
settlements. Similarly, traditional stone water spouts are also declining in
number in Lalitpur district due to the establishment of different industries and
factories.
