Protected species like Thakal (Cycas pectinata) and Uttis (Alnus nepalensis) are facing extinction
due to lack of appropriate management practices in Siraha and Sankhuwasabha
districts, east Nepal. In addition, Vishjara and Panchaaule (Dactylorhiza hatagirea) found in Khaptad
National Park, west Nepal, and Tele mountain region of Mahabharat range have
equally been threatened from illegal trade.
