Himanchal Pradesh in northern India has come up with a new strategy for minimizing monkey
menace through mass culling which is against the wildlife rules and regulation. According to the concerned authorities, population of monkeys are
increasing even after implementation of sterilization scheme so mass culling is
suggested as one and only way to control their population. However the official
figures suggest that their population has decreased by 96,086.
