ACAP LOCALS INTEREST IN CONSERVATION- NEPAL
Locals in Annapurna Area Conservation Project (ACAP) are exerting
pressure for taking over management of the ACAP region in western Nepal. The conservation area was managed by
National Trust for Nature Conservation and the tenure is going to end next
month. The conservation area covers 57 VDCs of Myagdi, Manang, Kaski and
Lamjung districts and about 10,000 tourists visit the area every year leading
to the revenue worth NPR 200 million.
