Hoh Xil state Nature reserve, the biggest depopulated zone in
southwestern China, has seen a phenomenal rise in wildlife population. By the
end of last year, the number of Tibetan antelopes has reached 60,000 with an
increase of 40,000 over 1990s which is due to the control in poaching
activities and law enforcement by the local government. According to local
administration, no armed poaching has been found in this region since 2008.
