Illegal
extraction of sand and gravels from the Bauli River in Bajura district of
far-western Nepal, has left the local villagers at high risk of natural
calamities. Due to the lack of attention of concerned authorities, construction
materials are being excavated haphazardly without any initial examination. These
materials are being used for
constructing personal houses and government buildings.
