The lakes of
Accham district, far western Nepal, have started to dry up. The major causes
were lack of conservation efforts, frequent landslides events and inadequate
awareness among the locals. Jingalay, Lamadahi, Lissaydali, Taulo,
Tallodhauney, Mathidhauney, Gagray, Dautheykhala, Dhalthana, Rame and Geraha
have been able to attract both domestic and international tourists.
