VULTURES FOUND DEAD - India



After consuming a cow carcass believed to be administered with diclofenac sodium, 17 Himalayan Griffon vultures (Gyps himalayensis) have died in Kamrup district, Assam, north-east India. Additionally, 11 others were taken to Vulture conservation and Breeding Centre for treatment. In the last two years, at least 50 Himalayan Griffons have died in South Kamrup.
