NEW SETTLEMENTS LIMIT WILDLIFE MOVEMENTS- BHUTAN
According to a recently conducted
study along the wildlife corridor connecting Royal Manas national park to the
Phibsoo wildlife sanctuary and Khaling wildlife sanctuary, the expansion of
human settlements at Tanzema and Nganglam could lead to the shrinking of
corridor area and escalation of human-wildlife conflict. Also the approved road construction from
Chungshing to Gong under Dobangewog, Sarpang passing through tiger habitat
could obstruct tiger movement says the study.
