ASSAM CATASTROPHE- INDIA
Assam flood has caused loss of 121 human lives, affected 2.1 million people in all the 27 districts of the state, more than 0.5 million people rendered homeless and about 3000 villages submerged. The flood has also inundated 80 percent of the Kaziranga National Park, affecting over 540 animals. Meanwhile, carcass of two dehorned rhinos was reported from Karbi hills and Kohora forest camp respectively.
