CONSERVATION SERIES- Grade 6-7 ASLA School- Canada

Carbon Dioxide and Oceans
As anyone who has looked at pictures of Earth from space knows, Earth is not well named. The Earth is covered by 75% water. Water is essential to life. We drink water, the animals we eat drink it, absorbed by the plants we eat and depend on to absorb carbon, the list goes on and on. This is why we need to conserve water. Every day, humans release carbon dioxide in to the air, some of which is absorbed by the oceans, making them more acidic; killing sea animals, creating dead zones, and bleaching coral. This means that one of the small pieces to solving the puzzle of water conservation is the reduction of carbon emissions. Together we can save the oceans essential to our survival.
