A
number of ponds including Ranital and Kalikich are at risk in Shuklaphanta
Reserve, far-western region, Nepal. According to the concerned authority,
sediment deposition is the major reason for drying up of those ponds and it is
necessary to stop sediment flow for conserving the ponds.
