Due to the drying of water resource more than 51
households of Nimshong, Thajong and Zangling villages of Zhemgang district,
central Bhutan were unable to harvest anything from their paddy fields.
According to the farmers they used to depend on those crops to sustain a whole
year but due water scarcity they are now compelled to import grains. According
to the authority, they have allocated budget for installation of irrigation
canal to solve this problem but still they lack geotechnical support.
