Numbers of lakes in far-western region of Nepal are in
peril. For instance, Ghodaghodi lake of Kailali district, western Nepal is
covered by water hyacinth losing its size and beauty. Similarly, more than half
dozen lakes inside the reserve including Kalikichi, Salagaudi, Ranishilkari and
Bhumana are slowly disappearing due to annual flooding and weeds.
