TECHNOLOGICAL TRIUMPH

The two major problems, preventing the track from clipping due to ice melting on the roadbed, and improving thermal stability that led to Tibet's first railway, southern China have been possible due to the effort of scientist’s. Scientific technologies have been applied to the 550 km railway built on permafrost and a water transfer project in Gansu province.

MAGNIFICENT LULANG FOREST SEA

The Lulang forest sea observation deck situated at an altitude of 4,300m has become one of the perfect places at Bayi township of Nyingchi city, Tibet autonomous region, southwest China. The local and international tourists come here to enjoy the sea of forests, clouds, flowers and the Namjiagbarwa peak.

EARTHQUAKE TERROR

The deadly earthquake had killed at least 17 people in Tibet, southern China on Saturday. While a 5.3 magnitude quake has cut off telecommunication lines and destroyed several buildings in Nyalam County, Kyirong County and neighboring regions. The national road No. 318, about two kilometers away from Nyalam County have developed deep cracks.

TIBET ON TOP - CHINA

The government of China has declared Tibet among the areas with the best environmental quality in the world. At present the nature reserves account for 33.9 percent of the total land area. Forests cover 11.91 percent of the area. It has around six million ha of wetlands, 125 species of wild animals and 39 wild plants. Tibet had 85.11 million ha of natural grassland in total, of which 69.1 million ha was available for grazing by the end of 2012.

CARE CENTERS GAIN POPULARITY - CHINA

The Tibetan elderly receive concentrated care and consequent improvements in the quality of life, health and social security. Around 49 elderly care centers and seven child welfare agencies have been built in various places. While a total of USD 4.921 million has been invested in the care center occupying 2.2 ha with 236 beds.

PULU PROCESSING BENIFITS - CHINA

Locals of Taizhao Village, Tibet, southern China have managed to work out with unemployment by processing Pulu (Tibetan wool). Local cooperatives have been established by raising the funds of around USD 161,398. It produces Pulu dress in Tibetan style and handicrafts thus, generating income and promoting local tourism.
