According to the state government, Sikkim is
India’s greenest state with the forest cover of 47.3 percent and that’s more
than double the national average (21%). The increasing forest cover from 43.95
percent in 1993 to 47.3 percent has contributed to the rise in the number of
wild floras-cum-faunas.
