CHINESE OFFICIALS ACROSS THE BORDER, DENUDING FOREST IN NEPAL

Malabadi Forest in Rasuwa District, central Nepal, is severely deforested as the Chinese authority across the border,  are smuggling logs employing Nepali workers with hand chain saw since last year.  The forest was handed to local forest users group in 2007 but defunct later as they were found involved in forest clearance. Local officials opined that the deforestation can be stopped only through diplomatic dialogue.
