Salak, local name for Pangolin, (Manis
pentadactyla) was found by a local on the bank of the Mechi River in
Bahundangi, Jhapa district, eastern Nepal when he was looking for mushroom. The
pangolin was then rescued and handed over to the District Forest Office. It has
been listed on "The IUCN red list of threatened species 2014".
