Ecosystem in Tibet, southwestern China is moving in a
positive direction according to the latest assessment report released on January
4 on the environmental situation of the plateau. At present, Tibetan Plateau is the third
cleanest area in the world in terms of its environment, after the South and
North poles. China has invested almost one million dollars annually in the
protection and rehabilitation of Tibet's ecosystem.
