TIMBER SMUGGLING CONTINUES- BHUTAN



The problem of illegal timber felling in the vicinity of Royal Manas National Park has not ended in spite of the patrolling of  the park area by forest officials. Since January this year, seven groups of smugglers have been arrested and officials had confiscated tools used for smuggling. Meanwhile, forest officials have seized illegal sandalwood smuggled in from India at Lango, Paro district.
