FOREST FIRE AND HUMAN ENCROACHMENTS- INDIA
The ravaging forest fire in Dariya Hills has put threat on flora and fauna of Itanagar Wildlife Sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, human encroachment in Dachigam National Park in Srinagar is posing threat to the sanctuary's wildlife, including the Valley's famed Hangul (Kashmir stag) which numbers have dwindled from around thousands in 1947 to just 218. Over the years, agricultural fields bordering the park have been transformed into a village.
