2011: A YEAR OF GREEN- CHINA
In a bid to construct national ecological garden
city, Lhasa afforested a total area of 16,667 hectares in 2011. Similarly,
Chamdo city in eastern Tibet carried out several ecological construction
projects in 2011 which includes management and protection of 1.2 million
hectares of natural forest, forest construction over 3000 hectares, vegetation
recovery in key areas, water conservation and soil conservation and
construction of nature reserves.
