DIARRHEA IN UDAYPUR - NEPAL

The people have been suffering from diarrhea in Udaypur district, eastern Nepal due to polluted water, unhygienic foods and increased temperature. Around 30 to 50 are being hospitalized each day.

WASTE CONCERNS AT MT DHAULAGIRI - NEPAL

The waste thrown by mountaineers, tourists, guides and porters has been polluting the base camp of Mt Dhaulagiri, Myagdi, western Nepal. While locals of Mudi VDC have complained nobody has shown concern in managing the waste.

CHEMICALS IN BADAIYA LAKE - NEPAL

The contractor has been accused for excessive use of chemical fertilizers and lime to kill insects in Badaiya lake, Bardiya, midwestern, Nepal. He was awarded NPR 10.5 million for pisciculture.Two trolleys of chemicals were poured in the lake on Thursday, but the contractor has denied the charge.

GARBAGE IN MONASTERY - China

Collecting and managing garbage in Taktshang monastery in Paro, western Bhutan has become a major problem for one the most visited destination of the country. This has affected the tourism industry of the area. Thus the local tour operators and even tourists have started to conduct ad hoc cleaning campaign but given the number of visitors the place needs regular cleaning.

BETTER MANAGEMENT OF LANDFILLSITE DEMANDED- Nepal

Locals around the vicinity of Okharpauwa landfill site are demanding proper management of the site in Nuwakot, central Nepal. According to them, all 21 municipalities in the valley should allocate budget and should invest in proper management of the landfill site. In another case, a massive cleanliness campaign has started in 33  municipalities of Nepal to promote environment friendly technologies.
