Two poachers were imprisoned under the Wildlife
Protection Act for two years for killing a rhino (Rhinoceros unicornis)
at Orang National Park, Darrang district, north eastern India. They were also
fined a sum of INR 25,000 each. Two other poachers were killed in an encounter
in Kaziranga National Park.
