The export oriented industries in
Kathmandu, central Nepal have suffered as the workers left after the earthquake
on April 25. The majorities of industries are not in a position to recruit new
workers as they need skilled workers. Nepal exports carpets worth over NPR six
billion per year. The total export has fallen by 5.6 percent in the first nine
months of the current fiscal year.
