POACHING IN MANAS NATIONAL PARK- INDIA

Poaching has become a major cause of concern in Manas National Park in Assam, northeast India. Previously, due to poaching, the number of the rhinos in the park had decreased to zero but after translocating 10 rhinos from Kaziranga National Park and 8 from Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary, the number had increased to 27. Recently, a tiger skin was recovered in the area bordering Bhutan. However 6 rhinos have already been killed in the area since 2011.
