GRANT TO DOUBLE TIGER POPULATION BY 2022- NEPAL



Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has provided 3 million dollar donation to World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal for doubling the population of wild tiger by 2022 in Nepal’s Terai Arc Landscape (TAL) which will strengthen anti poaching patrols, protect core area for tiger breeding, restore critical corridors and continuously monitor tiger population. The area of the TAL is 2.33 million hectares and includes six protected area that are critical for tiger, rhino and elephant habitat. Previous support from this foundation had proved fruitful to grow the number of Tiger in Bardia National Park, Nepal.
