AIR POLLUTION IN KATHMANDU- NEPAL

Air quality in Kathmandu valley, central Nepal has become inferior due to increasing air pollution in the city. Kathmandu is the fourth worst polluted city in the world according to Pollution Index 2014 and lacks ambient air quality due to which 2.51 million city denizens suffer from major respiratory ailments while more than 1,600 people die every year. There are only three air monitoring stations being operational at present in the valley which measures only PM10.

AUTO ERA: THE NEW CHALLENGE- CHINA

Lhasa’s air remained to be the best in the world for first 10 months of 2013 but the Increase in number of cars by 200 a day is creating new challenges in the city.  Thus the local authorities have come up with plenty of ways such as intelligent traffic management including automatic traffic lights to remedy the situation.
