About 55 landowners from Pemagastshel district,
southeastern Bhutan have demanded compensation for their land identified as
biological corridor of Manas Wildlife sanctuary. The problem does not only rely on land
compensation but priority for maintaining biological corridor is also not
clear. The corridor is connected with double lane highway where more than 1,000
trucks carry out every day. To solve this conflict Ministry of Agriculture has
formed commission to assess land plotted under Manas Wildlife Sanctuary.
