Timber worth thousands of rupees left at
Gumdel VDC of Rammechap is rotting. Local people claimed that the timber was
being stolen. 1800 cubic feet of timber was confiscated while it was being
smuggled from Serding forest at Gumdel VDC last year. District Forest Office
(DFO) arrested two persons with around 45 cubic feet of timber in Mahendranagar
worth Rs 140,000.
